Special Olympics
On September 20, we are participating in an all-day fundraiser called motionball Marathon of Sport. This is an action-packed day where "Inspire Bandits" will play sports alongside Special Olympics athletes from our community and several of our favourite partners. This day helps to bring athletes of all abilities together on the playing field. While fundraising is one of our goals, Marathon of Sport is about so much more.
This day not only brings awareness to the Special Olympics movement, but allows people with and without diversabilities to interact, build lifelong friendships, and ultimately create more inclusive communities. The highlight of this event each year is having the opportunity to compete alongside local Special Olympics athletes like Ruby.
Thank you very much for your support!
I am so happy to be a part of motionball. I have loved making so many new friends over the years and doing so many exciting things with the motionball team. My favourite part of motionball events is seeing all my friends and meeting all kinds of new people. My favourite sports to play at Marathon of Sport are basketball, soccer and of course... all the dancing!
Help "Inspire Bandits" Support Special Olympics
By making a donation to motionball, you're helping to ensure that athletes like Ruby have the resources they need to safely return to the sport programs they love.

“Grandfathering” is an offensive term | Let’s stop using it
The term comes out of the American south where many states enacted laws to prevent African Americans from registering to vote. These states enacted voter registration laws that required registrants to pass literacy tests, own land, or other such strategies to create significant restrictions on men who may vote. But, because poor and illiterate white voters would also be barred from registering to vote under these laws, the laws included clauses that granted exemptions for any man whose grandfather was entitled to vote prior to the civil war. These clauses became known as “grandfather clauses” or “grandfathering.”

Insurers set to end “best pricing” policies in 2021
Best terms pricing developed when multiple insurers would each agree to submit their own bid to carry a portion of the total risk related to insuring a strata property — but the final premium paid by strata owners would usually be based on the highest of those bids, even if the majority of quotes were lower.
