Building and Strata Statutes Amendment Act
On November 24, 2022 the Provincial Government passed into law the Building and Strata Statutes Amendment Act. This law affects nearly all strata corporations that limited or prohibited the rental of a strata lot and all strata corporations that restricted the age of residents other than a bylaw requiring one or more residents to be 55. The Act also made changes to permit strata councils to permit electronic attendance at general meetings, even if the bylaws do not permit this form of attendance.
