It is important that we spend time with our families. A statutory holiday is not necessary to do so. But, we also recognize that it has been difficult to maintain personal relationships during the pandemic, even with family. So, this year we encourage you to use this holiday to reach out to the loved ones in your family that you might not have not seen or spoken to as much as you ought to have.
Many Canadians have lost family to death, or do not have healthy relationships with family, due to mental heath, addiction or abuse. If you know someone who has recently lost a loved one or do not have a healthy family relationship, we encourage you to reach out to them this Family Day to let them know that they are loved and family to you.
